LAAV FBT

The Lincolnshire Association of Agricultural Valuers is unique amongst all the CAAV associations on two counts, the first that our Honorary Secretary has always been prominent agricultural solicitor not a valuer. The second is that the association publishes its own precedent Farm Business Tenancy (FBT) lease on which the Honorary Secretary advises amongst a whole host of invaluable tasks carried out on behalf of the association.

The basis for the lease is a “hard copy” un-editable document recording all the main provisions with an editable section to record the details, parties to the lease, the commercial terms and any special provisions. The premise being that the valuers using the precedent know the form lease “inside out” visibly striking out and initialling the paragraphs that don’t apply. This makes for quick and easy drafting and reviewing on our client's behalf. This is designed to be efficient and build trust between the respective valuers acting in the matter and the parties to the lease.

The lease precedent is designed for short term, fixed term and annual periodic FBTs without dwellings and with limited buildings only.

The FBT is overseen by a sub committee of members Kath Philips (Chairperson), Ellie Allwood, Andrew Carter, Simon Williams and Sophie Barwood (Hon Secretary).

The CAAV publish lease precedents for other scenarios.

A thumbnail scanned version is available here for your information only. Hard copies (together with instructions) must be acquired from the Honorary Secretary’s office at £25 /pair.
